This was a tough climb, steep, rocky and slippy from the Baskinta side. Also a tough slippy descent I tried to make it as easy as possible. Quite chilly on top at 2460m. Beautiful views and I could see Beirut and the coast in the distance. Baskinta is also beautiful with the Baskinta Literary trail as many famous poets are from the town

I managed to find the track this morning along the Lebanese Mountain Trail which is above Baskinta and it was really nice with a beautiful view down to the town and across the mountains. This section was nearly all possible on my gravel bike. Very few people walk these trails and nobody really cycles the Lebanese Mountain Trail. The hills can get very steep and walked some parts with the bike. Very friendly people. I met the local Maronite Christian priest and we walked a talked for a walk. I also spoke with a local family in the fields growing garlic and I learned a lot from my stop in a a nice little restaurant in Baskinta chatting with the family. Love the Lebanese coffee. A fabulous day, Lebanon is amazing.

I was again researching the Lebanon Mountain Trail, section 15 and using my bike as much on the trail is possible to cycle. The trail is badly marked and where Komoot indicates a trail there is none sometimes. I will contact the LMT association for more info. I want to do the full 27 sections from North to South in the future in one go

I followed the Lebanon Mountain Trail Section 16 moving north. Most of the route is possible in the gravel bike but the route is badly marked and I couldn’t find any trail at a certain point. This was after walking the trail from the opposite direction yesterday and I encountered the same problem with no trail. There is no trail where Komoot shows there is. I will contact the LMT organization to get some guidance. Next week I will try section 15 from Mtein to Baskinta. A great day of adventure. Got a haircut in Falougha and met some lovely Lebanese people.
