Hiking
The De Hoge Venen nature reserve, with over 5,000 hectares, is Belgium's largest and most spectacular nature reserve. This unique high moor landscape was formed over ten thousand years ago after the last ice age and offers a fascinating, almost tundra-like setting.
The area also hosts the well-known Signal de Botrange, the country's highest point at 694 meters above sea level. Walking on the iconic wooden boardwalks or cycling past the swaying cotton grass and purple heather, you'll feel like you're on an adventurous journey in a completely different world just across the border!
