The descent leads directly from the Buchenparkhalle to the Obere Schleuse. It consists almost entirely of wooden steps, which are easy to manage. Alternatively, there is also the option of bypassing the descent via a wide forest path with a slight incline.
You should let your eyes wander on the lower section of the path. Here you will find the badger cave, which can be entered by small and thin people. It also offers some cooling on warm summer days. Unfortunately, when the weather is good, tourists gather here.
You can also see the first small sandstone rocks along the path.

A wonderful descent with a view of the first rocks.
If you like it a bit more gentle on the knees, the descent is not recommended. It is best to continue on the Hohweg, past the Wettinplatz and further on the Wettinweg

The descent is easy to do with the many wooden steps. It is wonderful that you dive more and more into the rock world. Once at the bottom, another highlight awaits with the boat trip through the Kirnitzschklamm gorge.
