The Scheppen family was once a noble fiefdom of Werden Abbey and was one of the largest feudal estates in Werden in the Middle Ages. Of the formerly closed four-wing complex, only a partial ruin remains, which is surrounded by moats. The parking lot in front of the complex is a popular meeting place for motorcyclists and day trippers, especially in summer. There is also a pier for the “White Fleet Baldeney” at Haus Scheppen.
