The name comes from 2 rocks that form a gate. A steep ascent leads from Alpe Nollen above Riefensberg up to the Steinernen Tor. On the south side is the Moosalpe and the Imberg - Hoch Häderich high plateau with fantastic views of the Nagelfluh chain. Attention: since the summer of 2021, the property owner has blocked the stone gate for bikers with an iron gate. It is not possible to get through or lift the bike over it.

This wonderful natural monument was unfortunately completely ruined by an unscrupulous person: The gap in the rock was blocked by a monstrous metal grille. Pedestrians can squeeze through a revolving door. The gate has become impassable for cyclists. Coming from the north you can with a lot of effort heave your bike west of the gate over the steep cliffs. A rather dangerous undertaking, which unfortunately damages the vegetation considerably. Conclusion for cyclists: Avoid the gate because it cannot be passed properly. Conclusion for pedestrians: Avoid the gate because it just looks ... with the grille. You could cry. Why is something like that allowed?
