For the ascent, you should definitely be sure-footed and at least somewhat free from vertigo. I'm afraid of heights myself, but I was able to complete the tour without too much stress.
Personally, I wouldn't do the loop in snow, so only after May. I would also only recommend the tour in the exact direction
