The place of the "Staufenschwurs" with sensationally beautiful view over Kelkheim, Frankfurt and the Taunushöhen.
The brothers and freedom fighters Friedrich, Heinrich and Max von Gagern promised each other here in 1838 to do everything together for the unity and freedom of Germany. The "Staufenschwur" was put into practice in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt, where Heinrich von Gagern was elected the first president of the National Assembly in 1848.
Incidentally, the hiker misses nothing if he saves the short climb to the top of the Staufen. Because there is no nearly beautiful view.
