The Huguenot church in Kelze dates back to the time when the village was re-established. In 1699, Landgrave Carl of Hesse had French religious refugees establish what is now Kelze on the site of a village that had fallen into ruin in the 14th century.
The simple church with a half-timbered facade, gable tower and pulpit altar was consecrated in 1709.
I found the church open in the middle of the village.

The church of Kelze was built as a half-timbered church at the beginning of the 18th century and inaugurated in 1709 by the pastor David Clement. To the entrance portal of the built in Saalbauweise church leads a small outside staircase.
