If you have climbed the 106 steps to the viewing platform, there is a good view of Weimar, Kiliansroda, Mechelroda, Mellingen, the Thuringian Basin, in good visibility to Kyffhäuser and resin. In the south, the chain of the Thuringian Forest is recognizable.

The Carolinen tower is a 26 m high observation tower, which was built in 1909 in honor of the deceased Grand Duchess Caroline of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach made of calcareous sandstone. If you have climbed the 106 steps to the viewing platform, there is a good view of Weimar, Kiliansroda, Mechelroda, Mellingen, the Thuringian Basin, in good visibility to Kyffhäuser and resin. In the south, the chain of the Thuringian Forest is recognizable.
