The engagement island with the stamp number 116 of the "Harzer Wanderadel" is probably one of the most beautiful resting places. It is located in the middle of the course of the Oker, which at this point is more like a mountain stream. Over a small, curved wooden bridge you reach the engagement island, located between mighty granite blocks. The stones are remnants and evidence of the last ice age, which also formed the Oker valley.

A rocky path that is definitely worth taking leads to the engagement island in the Oker. Easy to reach with dogs. However, the path is not necessarily suitable for strollers.
The stamp office for the Harz hiking pin 116 can be found on the engagement island. You can also enter this stamp in the Göthe themed booklet. ;-)
The island itself is quite small but absolutely worth seeing, almost fairytale-like. On the island you quickly get the feeling of being isolated from the outside world and in another world. There is a rest area that invites you to linger. The Oker washes around the island quite strongly and thunderously. "So it's relatively loud." You can get to the island from the hiking trail via a small, beautiful wooden bridge.
I will definitely hike there again! Or by MTB...
