Summary according to the information board: The Plateau des Tailles is a special raised bog and heath landscape that has been kept open for centuries by grazing and agriculture. With industrial use and large-scale forest plantations, many open spaces were lost. Today, restoration projects are underway to restore moor and heathland and promote biodiversity. Open spaces provide habitat for specialized plants, birds and butterflies. The municipality of Vielsalm is actively involved in the protection and restoration of this unique natural area as part of the LIFE Ardenne liégeoise project.
