The concrete copy of the Fröttmaninger Church was created as an art-in-building project for the new building of the Allianz Arena (on the other side of the motorway). It is reminiscent of the small village of Fröttmaning, which had to give way to the mountains of rubbish in Munich. The original church is not far away between trees and in a small cemetery. It dates from the 11th century, making it the oldest church in the Munich city area.

A visit to the Fröttmaninger Berg is worthwhile for a short walk through a beautiful mixed forest.
If the visibility is good, you can see beyond Munich to the Alps.
With a lot of imagination, you can equate the noise of the traffic on the nearby BAB A9 and A99 with that of a mountain river. :-)
