When the weather is nice, it is a tourist racing mile!
Best to visit during the week, on the weekends for a stroll.
A very chic lap.

Schloss Lustheim is located on the eastern edge of Schleißheimer Park, just over a kilometer from the complex of the Old and New Castles. The building was built in 1684 on the occasion of the marriage of Elector Max Emanuel (reigned 1679-1726) with the Austrian Emperor's daughter Maria Antonia in 1685. Lustheim served, as the name implies, as a pure pleasure and hunting lodge and was not permanently inhabited. The architect in charge of the building, built on the basis of the Italian villa suburbana, was Enrico Zuccalli

You can eat out near the castle, and there is also a hotel. Both bear the name "Elector".
The castle is also a museum.

Placed at a distance of about 1300 meters to the (old) castle in its central axis, Lustheim should form the center of its own garden. That at the same time the function of a "point de vue" came to him, incidentally. A plan by Henrico Zuccalli, for example, written around the beginning of construction in 1684, betrays this dual function.

On the occasion of his marriage to the Austrian Emperor's daughter Maria Antonia in 1685, Elector Max Emanuel commissioned the architect Henrico Zuccalli to build the Lustheim hunting and garden palace. The building, located on the eastern edge of the extensive baroque garden, was to be the center of circular buildings laid out in a semicircle. The northern pavilion with the frescoed "beautiful stable" and the southern pavilion with the Renatus chapel have been preserved. An art-historically important fresco cycle by Francesco Rosa, Giovanni Trubillo and Johann Anton Gumpp glorifies Diana, the goddess of the hunt.
Today, Lustheim Castle houses the world-famous and, after Dresden, most important collection of early Meissen porcelain from Prof. Dr. Ernest Schneider.
