    Hiking

For a short time, this house was home to a poet who liked to call herself "Prince Jussuf of Thebes." Her real name was Else Lasker-Schüler. There is no memorial plaque here; those can be found in Halensee and Schöneberg.

Else Lasker-Schüler was born in 1869 in Elberfeld, now part of Wuppertal. She grew up in a wealthy Jewish family. Her mother was a formative figure in her life. When her mother died, Else Lasker-Schüler later wrote the sentence: "As my mother died, the moon broke."
