Hotel Borgen is located in a building originally constructed in 1891 in a romantic medieval style for the Örebro Savings Bank. The red brick facade is dominated by several towers, giving the building a castle-like appearance. The architects were Fritz Ulrich and Eduard Hallquist. Strawberry, one of Scandinavia's largest hotel chains, acquired the building in 2014 and converted it into a 125-room hotel. It opened in spring 2016.
