The artwork is conceived as a stylized plant form rising from the ground, with a budding, moving flower bud at the top, referencing the agricultural character of the municipality of Nieuwerkerken. The whole symbolizes the "four-unit" between the sub-municipalities: Binderveld, Kozen, Nieuwerkerken, and Wijer. The sub-municipalities form a single entity and are visualized separately by four leaf-shaped corner pillars that together support the mobile form at the top. The mobile section is driven by the wind and refers to the cohesion, harmony, and dynamism of Nieuwerkerken.
