The art object was created in 1996 on the occasion of a metal sculptor symposium, which Neckarwerke sponsored for their 100th anniversary of power supply.
Eight artists worked for a week on the Metzinger Kelternplatz. Extremely bizarre works of art were created, from which the city of Metzingen acquired this steel trousers by the artist Beate Radespiel.
But the "rusty trousers" have been and remain on everyone's lips ever since. The artwork has triggered many controversial discussions. As a symbol of factory outlets, however, it has definitely established itself on Lindenplatz.
