Blackstrap Provincial Park is just south of Saskatoon, centered around the long, open waters of Blackstrap Lake. The lake itself is a man-made reservoir, created in the late 1960s as part of the region’s water supply system, and today it feels fully woven into the prairie landscape. Hiking here is easy and accessible, with lakeside paths and open grasslands. Around the park you can find campgrounds, toilets, playground, a sandy beach and other facilities.
