The oruwa is a traditional, essentially seaworthy dugout canoe-style sailing boat used on the west coast of Sri Lanka, primarily for fishing and catching crabs in the lagoons (e.g., in Negombo), but also at sea. These boats can often be seen sailing on this beach (in the mornings).
