The predecessor monastery of Moni Taxicheron, located about 2 km uphill, is picturesquely clinging to the vertical rock face. It dates back to 1432 and was destroyed twice by the Turks. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public. From the top, one enjoys a magnificent view of Moni Taxicheron and the Selinous Potamos Gorge.
