When planning the Kurparkwiese in 1958, a branched boardwalk was recommended so that visitors can enjoy the special beauty of the wet meadows regardless of the water level. It was never really realized. It was not realized by sponsors until 2010. Something nice has come out of it and the numerous benches invite you to take a contemplative break.

Hiking

The lower part of the spa park in Bad Malente stretches along the Schwentine. Here, long wooden walkways have been built through the meadow landscape to the river. A very worthwhile part that is reminiscent of state garden shows. Circular ponds invite you to take small detours with benches. An information board explains the history of the spa gardens and future conservation.

I walked over the footbridges when it was raining, but they were almost always easy to walk on. Only where there was too much water did a slightly slippery film form.
