Gem Lakes Trail brings hikers through thick evergreen forests of jack pine and spruce, and climbs ridges overlooking the lakes. Some of the lakes, like Diamond Lake and Opal Lake, have backcountry campsites. While the trail is well used and easy to follow, some hikers report confusion at trail junctions, and cell service is spotty, so come prepared.
