Jakar is a town in the Bumthang district of Bhutan. Jakar is famous for Jakar Dzong ("White Bird Castle"), built in 1549. The town is the administrative center of the district and lies in the Chamkhar Valley amidst picturesque scenery. Thanks to its mild climate, diverse trekking opportunities, and rich cultural heritage with ancient temples and monasteries, it is a popular tourist destination.
