The Palazzo Niccolò Grimaldi (also known as Palazzo Doria-Tursi) was built between 1565 and 1597. The first patron, Niccolò Grimaldi, went bankrupt in 1575/76, when the main building was largely completed. Carlo Doria finished the construction with the side arcades, so that the entire building now spans three plots of land.
Today, the palace serves as Genoa's city hall and houses part of the city's art collection.
