Mountain Biking Highlight
The Lech - originally a lime-alpine, dynamic and wild river and one of the last unregulated rivers in the Alps - is, however, forced here in Augsburg into a narrow riverbed, into which it buries itself deeper and deeper. Nevertheless, he is also a very special river here; not only because I grew up here as a "Lech child" and spent many of my childhood days in and around him, because it shapes the cityscape very much and offers many people seeking relaxation plenty of greenery and numerous opportunities. If you would like to accompany the Lech on its complete journey, you can take a hike from the village of Lech to Lechquelle, which lies near Lake Formarinsee and the Freiburger Hütte at an altitude of 1840m. This Lechquellenrunde is in 5 stages - from hut to hut - to commit.
