Located near Decorah, the Decorah Fish Hatchery offers outdoor experiences year-round for visitors, with free admission from sunrise to sunset. As a production facility run by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, it raises around 130,000 rainbow trout annually to support local streams. Guests can enjoy feeding the trout in outdoor raceways, relax by the beautiful Siewers Springs waterfall, and possibly spot the famous Decorah Eagles whose nest is nearby. The hatchery also provides access and parking for the 11-mile Trout Run Trail, ideal for biking, walking, or skiing through picturesque landscapes. Public restrooms are available.
