Upper Twin Lake in Banff National Park sits high above the Bow Valley, surrounded by steep limestone cliffs and dense subalpine forest. Reached by continuing past Lower Twin Lake, the trail climbs steadily through switchbacks before opening to this quiet turquoise basin. The lake is smaller and more secluded than its lower counterpart, with clear reflections of the surrounding peaks and the occasional sight of mountain goats on the slopes above. It’s a rewarding destination if you're looking for a peaceful alpine setting away from the busier Banff trails.
