At the heart of a diverse mountain landscape, the 1,141-meter-high Brocken towers as the highest point of the Harz National Park. The Brocken is the highest mountain in Northern Germany, a site of extreme weather, and the only low mountain range in Germany with a natural tree line. Once at the top, take your time to stroll across the plateau and soak up the typical rugged Brocken atmosphere. It's best to start early to avoid the biggest crowds.
