I find the Totentanz frescoes on the church wall in Plaus always fascinating. "In 18 scenes, the well-known Vinschgau artist Luis Stefan Stecher has portrayed our constant companion to death." The expressions in dialect confront the viewer relentlessly with the omnipresent death. " (Excerpt from suedtirol-it.com/plaus). The paintings would be unthinkable on a Catholic cemetery wall in Germany - but I think they are always ingenious to look at.
