The water tower was commissioned in 1926 but is now out of service. The building is a listed building and, with its brick facades, fits in well with the cityscape. Unfortunately, no new use has been found to this day, which is why the tower is slowly decaying.

    Water tower

The Barth water tower at Sundische Straße 78 was put into operation on December 22, 1926. It was designed by the Berlin architect Walter Brandt, who also designed the Barth town hall (Barth town hall).

The tower with a square floor plan is 35 m high, the main water tank with a capacity of 250 cubic meters is 20 m high. With its towering brickwork, its appearance between the town gate and the church tower, it fits stylistically into the townscape of Barth - determining the town's silhouette, especially when entering from the south.
