There are some great hiking trails to discover around Monreal, the most beautiful being the "Monrealer Ritterschlag" (Monreal Knighthood) dream trail, which starts right in the town center and circles Monreal via the two castle ruins. Those short on time can also simply follow the narrow path up to the castles and from there enjoy the magnificent view of the Eifel Mountains and experience the town from a bird's eye view.
