Ingolf Elster Christensen (1872-1943) was county governor and a strong advocate for the Flåm Railway. He became to be considered the Father of the Flåm Railway.
He was a jurist by education and a politician for most of his life. He was Minister of Defence and Minister of Justice for a brief period during the 1920s. He was county governor for the region around Flåm from 1910-1930, and for another eleven years thereafter for the Oslo region.
The bust is located in front of the Railway Museum.
