The Dirty Devil River flows through a deep red canyon before meeting the Colorado near Hite, crossed by the scenic SR 95 bridge.

If you are hiking the Hayduke Trail, this is where you will follow the river for several miles with no defined path to guide you. Crossing it means wading through knee to thigh deep water that can be muddy, cold, and unpredictable. Conditions can change quickly after rain, so always check the weather before committing. The water is often silty but can be filtered; let the sediment settle before treating it.
