The church of Bohus-Malmön was built in 1796 - 1797 in Lysekil. When a new church was to be built in Lyskil in 1906, Malmön Municipality purchased the old church building. The church was dismantled and rebuilt at the present location. The inauguration took place in 1907.
The church is a white painted wooden church with a nave in north-south orientation. The southern part consists of a three-sided choir, in the northern part is the church tower with the Waffenhaus.
The sacristy is in the choir behind the altar and is separated from the other church by a counter.
The altarpiece painted by Vilhelmina Lagerholm is a copy of Jean Jouvenet's painting "Deposition from the Cross".
The octagonal pulpit with hexagonal ceilings has been built according to drawings by the architect Eugen Thorburn.
In the tower hang two bells. The small bell was cast in Gothenburg in 1741 and redesigned in Stockholm in 1916. The big bell was cast in 1913 in Stockholm.
The organ was built in 1879 by Salomon Molander for Lysekils Church. She came to Malmön with the relocation of the church in 1906. 1912 was added to a new pneumatic organ work with eight parts, which was built by Eskil Lundén.
