The Mühlbachweg is a nice walk along the historic mill ditch through Wennigsen to the monastery. The large mill wheel at the local history museum is still preserved or. restored and definitely worth a visit.

The Mühlbach is a listed building in the inner-city Wennigser course. An artificial mill ditch runs alongside it, which is fed by the water of the stream and branches off at the western edge of Wennigsen. There used to be seven Wennigser mills with upstream mill ponds on it. In the summer months, these served as water reservoirs for the mill operation. The Obere Mühle, a former timber sawmill and today's Wennigsen local history museum, and the Mittelmühle Wennigsen, two of three overshot watermills, still stand as monuments. The third, also known as the Lower Mill or Klostermühle, was demolished in 1960. A house now stands in its place. A cascade was built in the place where the mill wheel was located. Shortly after the garden of the Wennigsen monastery, the mill works ditch flows into the mill stream.
