Great bridge. Built into the lake from parts of a former opencast mining machine. The launching boom of a spreader was once 95 meters long and was converted into a 63 meter long pier.

I know the pier in front of the IBA terraces without water.
It's nice how it gets more and more every year.

On June 20, 2005, the Großräschener Seebrücke was inaugurated by the bridge builders. It points in the direction of the former road to Senftenberg. A plaque reminds of the places that disappeared in the opencast mine.
In 1994 the idea arose to use part of the last spoil spreader from the Meuro opencast mine as a pier. It was supported by the IBA from 2000 onwards. The spreader was still filling the Reppist edge hose in 2001. In 2004 the conveyor spreader from 1973 was dismantled. The 66 meter long jib with mast and guy ropes was saved from being scrapped. As a pier, it is both a testimony to the mining tradition and the first sign of a new beginning as a seaside town.
