The mighty stone Devil's Table, the symbol of the Dahn Rocks, is surrounded by a mysterious legend. One night, the devil took a walk here. Very tired and hungry, he searched for a place to rest. With glowing eyes, he scoured the entire Palatinate Forest.
Nowhere could he find a place that met his requirements. Full of rage and anger, he seized three enormous boulders and arranged them together to form a table. After dining there, he set off again, leaving the table behind.
As the first rays of sunlight dispelled the night, people caught sight of the work. Many were certain, "The devil must have dined here!" Only one acted brave and disbelieving. "That can't be true. Then I'll dine with him the following night!"
