The Haacht Anti-Tank Ditch was built in 1939 and was part of the KW line: the main resistance position Koningshooikt-Waver with an extension to Namur. Lock Bunker H4 on the Anti-Tank Ditch was repainted as a lock keeper's house in the style of 1939, just before the start of World War II. During the war, bunkers were often painted as houses to camouflage them in the landscape. This helped, as the Germans had difficulty finding the bunkers among the houses.
