Bike Touring Highlight
The "Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Sports Park" on Prenzlauer Berg was formerly known as the "Stadium on the Cantianstraße" and from 1966 to 1977 stage destination of the International Peace Race. In 1952, the Eastern European tour led through Berlin for the first time. After 208 kilometers and around five and a half hours, the stage was won by Austrian Franz Deutsch. Today there is a large sports park, the stadium itself was renovated several times, so that there is not much left of the old charm. Nevertheless, this is exactly where the pros came in. You can cycle right through the sports park or watch the stadium from the Mauerpark and feel a bit like the pros on peace ride.
