    The Liverpool Garden Festival was Britain's first International Garden Festival, held from May to October 1984 on a former wasteland on the River Mersey, attracting millions of visitors. Spearheaded by Michael Heseltine, the event aimed to regenerate the city and its waterfront after the Toxteth Riots, showcasing international horticultural displays, themed gardens like the Beatles maze and Japanese garden, and family attractions like a light railway. The site, now known as Festival Gardens, features the original Festival Hall, continues to serve as a public park, and is undergoing further development into a new riverside neighborhood.  
    They have turned the old garden festival into a beautiful location for running, walking, and cycling. You can see from the photos the old pictures with the red dragon that lead of the bridge to pets corner which has now sadly gone but I have very fond memories of all the animals
