The Garden of Human Rights in Oshawa's Waterfront Park honors Ed Broadbent's commitment to human rights and recognizes the rights of Indigenous peoples. It includes 13 beds symbolizing the grounds of discrimination prohibited by the Canadian Human Rights Act.
Initiated by Rick Kerr and inspired by the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg, the garden was created as a place of rest and reflection and was officially opened in Broadbent's name on June 1, 2023.
