Burgpreppach is a market town in the Haßberge district of Lower Franconia and a member of the Hofheim administrative community in Lower Franconia. The town is also known locally as Preppich.
Burgpreppach Castle and the village came into the possession of the Fuchs von Bimbach family in 1344. The noble estate was mediatized by the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in 1806. It passed to Bavaria with it in 1814. As part of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipality of Burgpreppach was created with the municipal edict of 1818.

Burgpreppach's unique features include its monumental, unfinished castle with its late Baroque architecture, numerous cultural events such as concerts, a medieval market, and a Christmas market, as well as the many historic hiking and cycling trails that lead through the idyllic landscape of the Haßberge Nature Park. The town also attracts visitors with its "Museum of the 1950s" and the historic village ensemble in Leuzendorf.
