    The wooden bell tower is located right next to the venerable St. John's Church. It was first mentioned in documents in 1742, but was already shown in a plan in 1704. It was destroyed by fire in 1795 and rebuilt in its current form in 1799 as a free-standing structure.

    The bronze bells that existed until the Second World War were melted down during the war years and replaced with steel bells. These in turn gave way to three new bronze bells in 1971.
