Rüggeberg - Höhendorf between Heilenbecker and Ennepetal in the southern Ennepe-Ruhr district. As Freihof Royckeberg first mentioned in 1315 Rüggeberg has retained its original charm to this day. In the middle of the village is the small, built in 1827, Protestant church. Worth seeing are the old cemetery and the granary. The streets are star-shaped from the center and invite you to long hiking and biking tours. Note: from Rüggeberg it's always downhill and always uphill ;-)

Rüggeberg is a picturesque, sleepy and very quiet village that belongs to the city of Ennepetal. Is a little higher but it is worthwhile to Rüggeberg in a bike ride. From there there are several possibilities to plan further tours. You can go downhill in the direction of Peddenöde and from there towards Ennepetal Castle and Ennepetalsperre. Closer is, however, the Heilenbecker dam, which is also downhill in the Heilenbecker valley and can be reached in a few minutes by bike.
