Beautiful preserved castle ruins and the landmark of Hilpoltstein. Over a long tunnel you reach the castle courtyard. Also worthwhile is the ascent to the castle tower, because from the top you have a magnificent view of Hilpoltstein and the surrounding landscape.

From April to October at weekends and public holidays from 10.30am to 5pm

The Traidkasten (granary), built in 1473, was converted into a district office building in the 19th century. The building served partly as a hospital and orphanage. When the district office and tourist information office moved in in the 20th century, it was given the name “Haus des Gastes”, which it still bears today.
