Harzblick Tower

This is the new Mackenröder tip, so to speak. The tower used to stand a little further south and had to give way to the small radar post of the Bundeswehr on the fenced property that is used today by the city forestry office.
The panorama over the Goldene Mark to the Brocken and to the Ohm Mountains east of Duderstadt is always different and mostly very beautiful, depending on the time of day and seasons.

The Harz view tower has been open again since July 22nd, 21st and can be climbed.
It was completely renovated from May '21 to July '21. The steps and the side panels of the floors as well as part of the load-bearing beams were renewed. The path to the tower and the area around the tower have also been restored.For the renovation work, oak and larch wood directly from the Göttingen city forest was used, which was felled about 2 years ago and kept especially for such repair work and not sold.

The Harzblick Tower offers in clear weather the best view in the direction of Eichsfeld. The glistening Seeburger See is especially beautiful in sunshine. For confusion sometimes ensures the naming "tower on the Mackenröder peak, because the actual Mackenröder peak is located about half a kilometer south. The tower was there as well, but only until the seventies of the last century. ;-)
