A walk through the forest history offers the 700,000 m² large forest in which the community Suderburg has created a forest trail in close proximity to the "Agricultural Museum Lüneburg Heath".
On the interestingly designed panels visitors are made aware of how humans used the forest and what effects it had. Marunder's cheerful wild boar Sud'l explains why it was with "black men" in the boot, or why the large heathland areas were once created and why they disappeared again.
Along the path, which leads through a magnificent mixed forest with old beech stands, the changeable history of the forest can be easily understood by the attentive visitor.
If you want to know more about the life and work of the pagan population, you can find out more about this at the end of the 3.2 km long forest history trail in the "Museumsdorf Hösseringen".

The path leads through a great forest that finds its way back to its origins.
