Callantsoog is a coastal town in the municipality Schagen, North Holland (Netherlands), with 2,440 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). Until the end of 2012, the place belonged to the municipality Zijpe.

The place is about fifteen kilometers south of Den Helder; next city (and train station) inland is the well ten kilometers away Schagen. There is a bus service there via the line 152. Furthermore runs in the summer months every hour called Zomerlijn line 851 between Petten and Den Helder.

The history of the settlement can be traced back over 1000 years. Due to floods and shifting dunes, their location was uncertain until the beginning of modern times. At times, the village was located on an island called Callinghe op 't Oghe. The forerunner of the current location, which was about 3 km from today's coastline, went down in the All Saints' Flood of 1570.

Callantsoog is a beautiful coastal town in the municipality of Schagen. A town that has grown over a long period of time. We always enjoy being here.

Strandslag 12 (this location here) is Calatnsoog Dorpsplein. From there you can see the current center of the town.

The Albert Heijn supermarket is behind the village square and is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The other shops are open until 6 p.m.

There are also a few nice restaurants on the village square. There are two options for renting bicycles.

The beach can be reached from Calantsoog via four entrances. Each with (at least one) beach pavilion.
