For a long time, the Leuchtenburg was the seat of the judge of Kaltern.
In the 17th century, the use of the facility ended and it was left to decay. Parts of the curtain wall and the hall with frescoes from the 15th century are still preserved. The ascent to the Leuchtenburg is very worthwhile, as you can enjoy a wonderful view of Kaltern, Lake Kaltern and the Adige Valley from here.
