Hernen Belt Mill

The Hernen belt mill is located on the other side of the motorway and therefore no longer emotionally close to the place. The Hernense Molen dates from 1749 and is already noticeable from afar. It's a bell grist mill. The addition "belt" comes from the knoll on which the mill appears to stand. It is actually put around it like a belt. Around 1969 a TV series was made about knight Floris. The recordings in which a windmill occurs were made at the Hernense windmill. In episode 6: "De Vrijbrief" you can see at the end that soldiers are tied to the blades and that the mill was left running:
